The Bismarck Mandan Stock Car Association met on January 12, 2023 with all Board members present.  The meeting was called to order by President Jeremy Keller.

The minutes of the last meeting were read by the secretary, Jessup Pelkey.  Preston Martin moved the minutes be approved.  Motion seconded by Mike Christiansen and carried.

Herb Bargmann gave the treasurer’s report.  He noted all of the sanctioning agreements have been sent in for next year.  We have received the agreement with IMCA, and Wissota has cashed our check.  We prepaid the lights for installation on the track, the rent, and the air conditioners for the tower.

We do have a couple of vendors who have not paid from last year.  Jane will contact them again.  Jessup moved the report be approved, seconded by Casey Martin and carried.

Keven Martin reported that as of right now he has corner people, but that could change before the racing season starts.

Jessup noted he is going to make a Facebook group for volunteers, so they can list if they will be missing for a particular week.

Casey reported the cost of a mini-mod cart for racing on the planned go-cart track is around $5800.  If anyone wants to help us organize this track, please contact us.

Casey also noted we will have a derby scheduled on October 7, weather permitting.  It will be held during the day.  They expect at least 50 cars to show up in Mandan for this derby.

The Monster Truck promoter, Steve, is working on getting five trucks this year.  He presently has three committed.  He has tentatively booked the motor cross club to perform during the Monster Truck shows.

Discussion followed on hobby stock rules.  They are presently frozen.  After several questions, it was noted that if our tech guy rules them illegal, they will not be allowed to race until changes have been made, and they are deemed legal.

It was also noted that 2010 helmets will not be allowed.  That is a new rule in sanctioning bodies this year.

The meeting was adjourned.
